Call this one a project within a project. Kind of like the Inception of projects, but thanks to Ana White, far easier to understand.
Luke’s room had a great base – a gorgeous Benjamin Moore Pottery Barn Collection color, soft beige curtains and white furniture. We swapped out the crib for a big boy bed and did a little rearranging to maximize his floor space. I’ve been working on it bit by bit for months and am so happy to be done with it and love it!
From the get-go, his room was an understated nautical theme, which I think is perfect for either a baby or a toddler. We live in Maryland, home to the sailing capital of the world – plus, boys love boats! Couldn’t be more perfect for him.
As a secondary project I made the Vintage Crate Cart that you can find here. It was EASY. You can totally make one yourself – it took me about an hour and a half, and the look on Luke’s face and “Wowwwww” made it totally worth every second. We are now keeping all of his Thomas stuff in there for easy access, since he has been playing with his trains nonstop recently (maybe I should have done a train room then? Ha!)
Here is a tour of Luke’s completed big boy room…
Ana White’s Vintage Crate Cart – made by me!
I painted this sailboat! Acrylic on canvas
Took a picture of blocks & had it blown up to poster size
Just a note, he doesn’t actually sleep with blankets or pillows!
